About Us
We are a group of motivated students who are concern about the arising pollution problem in the environment especially during the COVID-19 pandemic period as well as the welfare of our society. Seeing a need for a platform where people can easily access to get information regarding all possible alternatives available to implement in daily life to reduce further damage to the environment as well as improving the welfare of rural people, which prioritize in re-use, recycling and valuing waste under different techniques through social campaign, we decided to start this project. We focus on making the maximum positive impact for our community by supporting local farmers and local companies and promote sustainable agriculture in Indonesia through social media.
Rice paddy plant dominates Indonesian’s agriculture as Indonesia has a moist tropical climate. Farmers usually harvested rice several times per year. Rice straw is a residual by-product of rice production at harvest. The farmers in Indonesia have burnt the rice straw they harvested for years now. Rice straw contain high amount of inorganic compound and ash. During burning, rice straws released carbon, N2O, and fine dust into the air. There are several options available that can turn rice straw into a commodity that can benefit to rural people as an alternative solution to the burning of the rice straw and reducing the emissions of gas of greenhouse effect: production of compost, mud of water treatment plant, biomass fuel, biogas fuel, rice drinking straw, bio plastics, bio silica, rice straw mushrooms, pulp paper replacement, building materials, furniture, and even organic fibre blanket. This will give beneficial aspect for the environment: reducing the emission of greenhouse effect gases, improve the knowledge in respect to the culture of rice, improving the welfare of the rural people so the children can receive better education and health facilities as well as conserving the environment.
Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, we provide options that make a long-lasting difference. We are eager to put Indonesian sustainable products on the map.
